HospiceTalk – News from our community for our community – December 2024

16 December 2024

As another season unfolds, we’re delighted to bring you updates from us in this issue of HospiceTalk.
In these pages, you’ll read a heartfelt message from our CE, along with an introduction to Spiritual Care by our new coordinator, highlighting the vital role it plays in our service. We also share Ivy’s journey, lovingly told by her whānau, reflecting the profound impact of hospice care.
We’ll celebrate successful recent fundraisers and explain how our dedicated team ensures care is available 24/7, providing peace of mind for patients and their loved ones.
This issue also marks a special moment of gratitude as we acknowledge Mike Brooke, who steps down after 12 years as Chair. His guidance and commitment have been invaluable to our organisation, and we extend our deepest appreciation for his service.
Our popular Trees of Remembrance are now in place, offering a special way to honour loved ones during the festive season. We also take a moment to recognise the incredible efforts of our volunteers, whose time and energy make so much possible.
Lastly, you’ll find handy information on our HospiceShops’ trading hours—perfect for a browse or a donation of pre-loved treasures.
Thank you for your continued support of Hospice Taranaki. Together, we create a community where compassionate care shines.
