Te Rangimarie Hospice, 5 David St, Westown New Plymouth
Remembering our loved ones together with others is often an important way to honour and acknowledge those we have lost.
We invite whānau and friends to remember together at a simple gathering where words, music and ritual provide a shared opportunity for reflection, followed by refreshments and a time to connect.
We also encourage and support whānau to create their own memorial events or activities. Guidance and resources are available from our Spiritual Support team.

From Your Farm
Farmers can pledge a 4-day-old calf or a 100kg weaner (Hereford or Friesian) to support Hospice Taranaki.
Transport costs are covered by the farmer, and NAIT tags should be used.
Hospice Taranaki calf ear tags are available upon request from your ambassador, sponsored by Allflex.
Alternatively, the value of a calf can be donated directly
This initiative helps raise essential funds to provide free care to patients and their whānau.
Give a calf. Give comfort. Give Hospice.
For more than 30 years, Te Kahu Pairuri Hospice Taranaki has supported people with life-limiting conditions to live with dignity, comfort, and compassion. Care is provided wherever it’s needed — at our inpatient unit, in people’s homes, or another place of their choosing — and it’s always free of charge.
But we can’t do it alone.
Why Your Support Matters
Each year, we care for hundreds of patients and their whānau — but only 52% of our funding comes from Health NZ. The rest comes from people like you.
Your support through Calves for Hospice helps us bridge the gap, ensuring that our community continues to receive specialist care, day and night.
Every calf — or its value — helps us be there for families when they need it most.
How Calves for Hospice Works
It’s simple and meaningful — here’s how you can help:
Option 1: Pledge a Calf
- Donate a 4-day-old calf or a weaner (approx. 100kg)
- Use your own NAIT tags
- Arrange your own transport to your local sale yard
- Optional: Request Hospice ear tags (sponsored by Allflex) from your local ambassador
Option 2: Donate the Value of a Calf
