the catchiest saying... Good in the hood

Through Good in the Hood, each of Z’s service stations have chosen four different community groups to support, giving away a total of $4,000 at every site.

Customers who shop, or pay for petrol in store are given an orange token to pop in one of the four boxes (sometimes staff get busy - so please ask for a token), vote for your charity - Te Kahu Pairuri Hospice Taranaki. The money is split between all participating charities based on the number of votes each receives.

Nice to find a way to support your charity without having to pay yourself!

Four of Taranaki’s well-known charities are in the running for a percentage of a national service station’s $1million annual Good in the Hood giveaway.

Through Z Energy Courtenay St New Plymouth, Te Kahu Pairuri Hospice Taranaki, Mellowpuff Charitable Trust, Horses for Humans and Conductive Education will share a percentage of $4000 depending on how many votes they receive from Z’s service station customers.

From September 25 to October 23 customers will be given a token to vote for their favourite community group. The results will be released in November.

Te Kahu Pairuri Hospice Taranaki marketing assistant Emma Walker said it was great that charities were being supported in a fun way by Z Energy. The four groups, who were all part of the Taranaki community, were enjoying collaborating in the special event and appreciating the exposure. As a thank you, some customer’s cars were even given a free windscreen clean.

Te Kahu Pairuri Hospice Taranaki provides free palliative care throughout the region while Mellowpuff supports children in need. Horses for Humans assists in personal development and Conductive Education aims to maximise the abilities of children with disabilities.

Vote counts: Ashley Joseph, of New Plymouth, chose Hospice Taranaki as his charity at Z Energy Courtenay St, New Plymouth. Watching on are, from left, Horses for Humans’ Gemma Chambers and Hospice Taranaki’s marketing assistant Emma Walker.
