Connections for Carers
A Carer is an individual who provides unpaid assistance and support to someone who has a disability, illness, or is elderly and unable to manage daily tasks independently. This role often includes helping with personal care, medical needs, household chores, emotional support, and coordinating with healthcare services. Carers can be family members, friends, neighbours, or someone special, and their support is crucial in maintaining the wellbeing and quality of life of the person they care for.
Carers Group – Support Program
Our Support Program for Carers offers an extensive range of free support, resources, and information for those who care for others. Running throughout the year, this program includes six weekly sessions, each addressing a unique aspect of caregiving. Facilitated by our Support Services Team and featuring various speakers, the sessions cover practical skills like pain management, nutrition, patient transfer, and navigating healthcare systems. We aim to provide ongoing support and valuable resources to help manage the challenges of caregiving, all at no cost to participants. While we encourage carers to attend all sessions, we understand life’s unpredictability, so attending some sessions is perfectly fine. Please book your spot in advance as spaces are limited, helping us to better plan and support your needs.

Carers are encouraged to attend all session. However, we understand that Carers lives are unpredictable, so this may result in only being able to attend some sessions. That is oK. Numbers are limited so please contact us beforehand to book your spot. This helps us with planning.
