Te Kahu Pairuri Hospice Taranaki actively takes an ‘outside-in’ look at its services by way of engaging individuals to join the Hospice Taranaki Consumer Group. This Group is tasked to provide practical, unbiased reviews and recommendations regarding various non-medical aspects of the services offered by Hospice to the Taranaki community. You do not have to have had any experience of Hospice to add valuable insight for this group.
How We Work
The Consumer Group meets regularly and undertakes various projects in consultation with Hospice Taranaki. The consumer group looks at the project researches, examines and gives opinions on how it can be improved.
What Do We Do?
The Consumer Group provides feedback to Hospice Taranaki on all aspects of engagement with all stakeholders. The Group’s vision is to provide meaningful, achievable, and practical recommendations on behalf of consumers to empower an end-of-life service provider that:
- Is accessible to the whole community regardless of age, gender, ethnicity, and socio-economic status;
- Meets the expectations of the patient, their whānau, and their support network;
- Is welcoming;
- Ensures the information provided is clear and understood by the patient, their whānau, and their support network;
- Provides staff and volunteers with a positive and supportive environment;
- Gives the patient, their whānau, and their support network a voice to provide meaningful feedback to Hospice to ensure continuous improvement of the Hospice experience.
A Voluntary Role with a Big Impact
Being part of the Consumer Group is a voluntary role. By contributing time and insights, the Group helps shape the way Hospice Taranaki delivers their service.
