Hospice palliative care is provided free of charge to our patients, but it’s important to acknowledge that these services come with associated costs.
In the current year (2023/24), we anticipate delivering palliative care to more than 650 individuals and offering support to thousands of their family and whānau. While we do receive some core funding from the government, we still require an additional $5 million to cover the expenses of delivering our services without charge.
This $5 million relies on the generosity of the Taranaki community, which includes grants, donations, fundraising events, and support from our HospiceShops.
Any financial contributions made are an investment in our future, ensuring that we can continue to offer specialised hospice care and support to all, regardless of their financial circumstances.
It’s important to note that Hospice Taranaki is a registered charity. For any monetary donations exceeding $5.00, you are eligible for a tax rebate, and we will provide you with a receipt for this purpose. To ensure you receive a receipt please include your phone number in the reference of the deposit.
