Te Rangimarie | In-Patient Unit Care

Inpatient Care at Te Rangimarie

Hospice care is also provided in Te Rangimarie (the hub of Hospice Taranaki). Te Rangimarie serves as a crucial support for patients, their families, and whānau, addressing various needs in a caring environment. Address: Te Rangimarie, 5 David St, Westown, New Plymouth

Patients may be admitted to Te Rangimarie Hospice for several reasons:

1. Symptom Management:

Short-term stays (can be a week or longer) for a thorough review of patient symptoms, such as pain, nausea, and vomiting. Our dedicated team works tirelessly to ensure effective symptom management, promoting the patient’s comfort and well-being.

2. Respite Care:

Available for brief periods (typically 3 – 5 days), primarily designed to offer valuable respite for caregivers and family | whānau members. These short breaks provide an opportunity for rejuvenation. If respite in the inpatient facility is not possible, we explore alternative options, including respite in an aged care facility.

3. End of Life Care:

When care at home is no longer feasible or is no longer the preferred option, Te Rangimarie Hospice stands ready to provide a nursing level of care environment for compassionate end-of-life care. Our focus is on ensuring comfort and support during this significant phase.

Our weekly Day Programme operates at Te Rangimarie Hospice.

Best palliative care in the bed the patient is in…

Care is not limited to Te Rangimarie as the Hospice care team provides the best palliative care to the patient in their home, rest home, or hospital setting. Professional guidance and support is provided to healthcare professionals providing palliative care in other facilities.
