Hospice Bowls Tournament

Fantastic day on Sunday 5th January at New Plymouth Bowling Club. Great support from the community with teams from all over the province participating. Summary of the day would include the exceptional skills shown on the greens, the camaraderie, respect and how well organised the event was. A highlight was not just the occasional really good bowl but the wonderful scones for morning tea.

15 teams with helpers in the bar, in the kitchen, around the greens - as we all know these events can't happen without lots of people helping out and being very well led - in this case by Grayson.

Funds were gained from the team entrants fee, the raffles, auctioning of potatoes (that was different) and auctioning off a donated charcoal grill Weber BBQ, a winning team donated there winnings back and one very brave bowler - donated $50 for every wicket that NZ lost, while he was bowling, in the test game against Aussie...

Well done everyone at NP Bowling Club, I, like many of the other bowlers look forward to the event next year. Thank you everyone.
