Collections at a funeral in lieu of flowers

Thank you for considering supporting Te Kahu Pairuri Hospice Taranaki in memory of a loved one.

The phrase "in lieu of flowers" doesn't necessarily mean that there will be no flowers at the funeral; often it means that the family may have decided to limit floral tributes. Many families find it comforting to know that the passing of a loved one, whilst sad, can have a positive impact on the lives of many others in their community. If you would like to organise this, let your funeral director know that you would like to ask for donations for Te Kahu Pairuri Hospice Taranaki and they will take care of everything else:

Each person that has donated and provided their name and address details for donations of $5 or more will receive a tax receipt acknowledging their donation
Approximately a month later you (Next of Kin) will receive a letter from Te Kahu Pairuri Hospice Taranaki advising you of the total amount donated from the funeral. Additionally, you will be advised of those who have donated in memory of your loved one (only for those who have passed on details, and no amount will be identified).

We do have donation boxes available at Te Rangimarie Hospice if you would like to manage this yourself - to enquire please contact rose.whitaker@hospicetaranaki.org.nz or call on 06 753 7830. Otherwise, the Funeral Director will have envelopes and donation boxes.
